Proposed federal workplace fall protection system rule withdrawn

Many Georgia employees spend their days in workplaces where trips, slips and falls are a frequent hazard. This can be because of wet, slippery floors, an abundance of equipment and perhaps loose flooring or carpet that one can trip over. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, trips, slips and falls are among the most frequent causes of injuries and fatalities suffered in the workplace.

Common causes for road construction zone injuries, deaths

People who do road construction work have some of the most dangerous jobs around. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, over 20,000 workers are injured every year on road construction sites. In 2013, over 100 people were killed in road construction zones. With increasingly more motorists on U.S. roads every year, those numbers are likely to increase.
